(Hyatt Grand Cypress, Orlando FL) So with very mixed emotions I was in no rush to upload the write-up for this wonderfully beautiful, yet only-briefly temporary display of 500,000 Qualatex balloons which were only on display for 2 amazing days for the public to benefit Give Kids The World.
Qualatex latex balloons are made 100% from natural latex from the bark of rubber trees. As such, these balloons are biodegradable with an accelerated decomposition rate. The highly-colorful attraction took a solid week's worth of hundreds of volunteers manually inflating balloons in order for more than 300 talented balloon artists from around the world to fashion all of the balloons into life-sized replicas of iconic scenes from Give Kids The World Village.
In my experience, I was warmly welcomed at the security gate to the Hyatt Grand Cypress who directed me where to park, where I would catch a quick shuttle ride over to the hotel. The ride didn't even take 5 minutes and upon arrival to pick me up, as the doors opened, I saw dozens of children happily emerging from the shuttle wearing balloon hats, swinging pirate sword-shaped balloons, with some proudly waving their new pet balloon animals overhead.
The scene was similar when I walked into the Hyatt Grand Cypress, with a huge colorful archway prominently welcoming guests to the attraction which spanned 12 massive ballrooms. A child-filled / balloon-filled area was the next sight to behold before entering under the brilliant balloon canopies leading guests into the entrance.
Give Kids The World Village is a magical place in and of itself, fulfilling children's lifelong wishes alongside their family members. But to see that same village in balloon form was quite breathtaking, immediately resorting even the most serious adults back into an fanciful dream-like space filled with life-sized elephants and giraffes, pirate ships, and choo-choo trains. Guests were walking through Give Kids' Amberville section, accurately recreated, immediately beside the balloons that recreated the Castle of Miracles and Star Tower, and even Starlite Scoops!! You could see happy carousels and even Ol' Elmer was there to greet you, if you were able to take in all of the overwhelmingly fantastic visuals.
Although this air-filled spectacle could only be on display for a brief period, you have the opportunity to contribute year-round back to this wonderful Give Kids The World organization: How to Help | Give Kids The World Village | Top-Rated Charity | (gktw.org)
What a wonderful experience!
