Amway Center, Orlando FL) On July 15 2022 for 2 1/2 solid hours, I witnessed my first WWE Friday Night SmackDown spectacle, and it was a blast!
Set against the backdrop of sophisticated lighting, cinematic surround sound entry music, and explosive pyrotechnics alongside the ring itself, I watched just about 20 larger-than-life wrestlers and their huge personas parade into the main stage where they radically entertained fans within the Amway Center complex. Performing high-flying somersaults, acrobatic dives from top-tiered turnbuckles, and taking full-blown kicks to the face, these wrestling superstars were tireless and charismatic and put on one heck of a fun show for all the fans!
With brief moments in between some matches to accommodate for televised commercials, the wrestling performers stayed in character and tantalized fans seeking to witness these athletic entertainers live up to their storyline identities. It made no difference if you were watching the women's matches or the men's: you were going to get high-adrenaline action, bodyslams, body punches, kicks to the head -- I myself found myself in awe seeing the wrestlers land many of these dangerous stunts.
These WWE events are highly fan-friendly with the wrestlers having tons of interaction with the fans, particularly with the fortunate ones sitting ringside. Fans brought homemade signs, wore their best wrestling shirts, and even participated in massive group chants welcoming (or booing) the performers entering the ring.
