(Orlando FL) On September 12, 2012 former President Bill Clinton visited the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando FL to campaign for fellow Democratic President, Barack Obama, in the upcoming November elections.
Clinton, one of the most personable Presidents and arguably one of the most 'successful' Presidents in office, quickly identified with the crowd of approximately 2,000 referencing the 100-computer simulation companies here in central FL, mentioning that the University of Central Florida was 'the country's largest unknown university', and speaking of local Orlando Police Chief Val Demings and her Orange County Sheriff husband, Jerry Demings, as though they were longtime friends.
The former US Commander-in-Chief was supportive of President Obama and his administration, and articulately blasted multiple points of Republican candidate, Mitt Romney, ultimately addressing Romney's intention to reduce the national deficit by introducing tax cuts with: "when you're in a hole I've been taught the first thing you do is to quit digging."
Clinton spoke for approximately 30 minutes before he was whisked away from the hotel.
"I honestly believe it doesn't matter who caused it or whether the contributing factors all happened under President (George W.) Bush or something I did or something Ronald Reagan did 30 years ago. Regardless, President Obama didn't cause it." -- President Bill Clinton
"As someone who, beginning when I was governor in 1979, has spent a lifetime trying to create jobs and help people start businesses and expand manufacturing and create opportunity for people to train and educate them to seize those opportunities, it is my opinion that no president, not Barack Obama, not Bill Clinton not anybody who served before us — nobody who ever had this job — could repair that much damage to this economy," -- President Bill Clinton
