(Orlando FL) LA-based Far East Movement did their thing and blew out the doors at Firestone Live to a fist-pumping dance-crazed Orlando crowd this night.
The fan-friendly group of 4 – Kevin Nishimura (Kev Nish), James Roh (Prohgress), Jae Chuong (J-Spliff), and DJ Virman – took to the stage just after midnight, when they unleashed aggressive vocals against 808 bass beats, showing O-town how the culmination of K-pop fused with LA-influenced electro-rap was able to influence the likes of Snoop Dogg, Justin Bieber, and Dev to perform on tour and record with them on various tracks spanning Far East Movement’s being together more than 10 years now in the music industry.
Despite their being all-Asian, Far East Movement broke down all racial barriers performing at Orlando’s Firestone Live to a mixed crowd of all ethnicities. When the stage spotlights were off, and the lasers and other integral lighting system of the club illuminated the audience, all inhibitions went out the window and the now neon purple-, green-, and blue-colored frenzied concert-goers were jumping and screaming to the group’s musical mainstays: ‘Like a G6’, ‘Bang It to the Curb’, and their newest single release ‘The Illest’.
Over the course of about 90 minutes, it was obvious that Far East Movement was enjoying their time at Firestone, providing a good time to all. The group came out squirting water guns into the crowd, had J-Spliff rapping onstage whilst donning a sumo-suit, launched Prohgress into one of his patented crowd-surfs, and at some point the guys were able to get an oversized rubber ducky bounced around the audience.
It was insanely fun, and hopefully we can get these founding members of today’s infatuated electronic music craze back to the City Beautiful sometime real soon.
