DONNIE WAHLBERG VISITS CENTRAL FLORIDA TO CELEBRATE ORLANDO’S SECOND WAHLBURGERS LOCATION

ORLANDO, Fla. Donnie Wahlberg visited Central Florida on Thursday, April 6 to officially mark the grand opening of Wahlburgers at Waterford Lakes Town Center, the second in Orlando. The celebration included a VIP event as well as an outdoor party featuring live entertainment, food and plenty of fans.“When my brothers came down to open the downtown location and I couldn’t come, I was very jealous because I love this city,” Wahlberg said. “We were incredibly proud to open our first Wahlburgers down here in Orlando. We knew this is a great city, it’s a fun city, it’s an up-and-coming city, and it’s really become one of the major cities in the country in the last decade or so."Following the June 2016 tragedy at Pulse nightclub, Wahlburgers Orlando raised $25,402 in t-shirt sales for the One Orlando Fund. In addition, Donnie Wahlberg personally contributed an additional $25,000. Both checks were presented on stage during Thursday’s event.Wahlberg said, "I'm so grateful to the many generous guests of Wahlburgers who purchased #OrlandoStrong t-shirts to help the victims still struggling in the wake of the horrible Pulse tragedy. It tells a lot about a city how they respond to challenging times. In the Pulse nightclub situation, we saw what the city is made of.”
During his visit, Donnie Wahlberg visited Wahlburgers in Downtown Orlando to surprise guests and visit the staff. He also spent time filming for Wahlburgers on A&E. The episode, featuring Central Florida, will most likely air later this spring.“Any excuse I have to go to Orlando is always a good excuse. Other than Boston, this is the first one (city) with two so it's a pretty big deal for us,” concluded Wahlberg.Wahlburgers Waterford Lakes is located at 749 N. Alafaya Trail in Orlando, Florida. The restaurant encompasses 6,700 square feet, slightly larger than the Downtown Orlando location. The restaurant includes a full bar, outdoor seating and offers both full and quick service. The interior décor features photos and mementos celebrating the Wahlberg family’s history. The menu is created by Chef Paul, who has put his own spin on Wahlberg family food favorites.
