(Tampa Bay, FL) 2 Disney princesses, Harry Potter's friend, the Stranger Things chief of police, and the legendary Val Kilmer were the huge draws to Tampa Bay Comic Con 2018, held August 3-5 2018 at the Tampa Convention Center.
Linda Larkin (the voice behind Disney's Princess Jasmine) and Paige O'Hara (the voice behind Disney's Belle) were highly engaging with their fans, causing their lines to always be packed!
Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom from the Harry Potter series) was also a definite fan favorite. Looking significantly more lean and handsome now vs. his younger screen days, Lewis took the time to talk with my daughters and posed for several photos which made my already Hogwarts-supportive daughters even bigger fans of the actor's.
The con does a very good job with its celebrity panels. The audio is always good so panel-goers can always hear exactly what the celebrities are saying. Also, even though the panel rooms can be fully attended, you always have a great view of the celebrity.
This convention is always one of our favorites. Children 12 and under are FREE ADMISSION, the con is always well laid out and logistically easy to navigate. Although the line queues leading up to the talent can be long, the convention staff does well to politely keep the lines moving, and wait times are actually pretty minimal.
TBCC isn't oversold, leaving attendees ample space to not feel cramped, but there are certainly many opportunities to see fan-based cosplayers to assess others' creativity.
Sincerely hoping to see you next year!!
