MEGACON™ TAMPA BAY CELEBRATED INAUGURAL EVENT WITH DAVID TENNANT, BILLIE PIPER, HENRY WINKLER AND MANY MORE OVER HALLOWEEN WEEKEND
2017 MegaCon Tampa Bay and MegaCon Orlando Dates Confirmed, Special Guest Tim Curry of Rocky Horror Picture Show fame, to appear in Orlando
Tampa Bay, FL – October 31, 2016 – MegaCon™ Tampa Bay, a multi-genre pop culture event, wrapped up their first convention at the Tampa Bay Convention Center Friday, October 28 through Sunday, October 30. The multi-genre con welcomed over 30,000 fans to three-days of excitement with celebrity attendees, shopping by top vendors, tattoos by Ink Fusion Empire, panels, speed dating and much more.
Most exciting, fans were able to meet Hollywood stars during photo opportunities and signings with David Tennant (Doctor Who, Jessica Jones), Billie Piper (Doctor Who), , Henry Winkler (Happy Days), LeVar Burton (Star Trek, Reading Rainbow), and Rob Liefield (Dead Pool creator) among the guest list. David Tennant and Billie Piper made a rare appearance on stage together on Sunday evening for a panel discussion. Additional event highlights included: Official MegaCon After Party at Orpheum in Ybor, Rocky Horror Picture Show Live Shadowcast by Cheap Little Punks, Pokemon Go Lure Party, among other fun filled activities.
“It was thrilling to see the overwhelming turn out this weekend for our first ever MegaCon Tampa Bay,” said Andrew Moyes, Show Director of Fan Expo HQ and MegaCon Tampa Bay. “Seeing the community come together with the support of Visit Tampa and the Tampa Bay Convention Center has been tremendous.
